Building
a Disciplined Life

One Proverb a day. One prayer you want answered. Three habits you actually keep.

Fifteen minutes a day. You'll only ever see one day at a time.

Proverbs has 31 chapters and August has 31 days. On September 1 it starts over at chapter 1 — and again in October, and again after that. This isn't a challenge with a finish line. It's a practice, and August is just where you start it.

Before anything else. Everything you write here stays on this phone. It is not sent anywhere, there is no account, there is no server, and nobody — including whoever invited you — can see any of it. Ever. That's not a setting. It's how it's built.

Everyone in the group opens the same link, but each phone keeps its own private copy. The link hands you the book — what you write in it is only ever yours.
Do this first

Put it on your home screen first.

Order matters here, and it’s worth ten seconds. On a phone, the home-screen version of this keeps its own separate memory from your browser. If you fill everything in now and add it to your home screen after, your answers won’t come with it and you’ll be typing them twice.
First

What should we call you?

Only you will ever see this.

The heart of it

One prayer.

One real question you want God to answer this month. Not a wish list — one thing. It'll sit at the top of your screen every single day this month. When the month turns you'll write a new one — or keep carrying the same one, if it's still unanswered.

If you're not sure you believe any of this yet, write the question anyway. A question you're carrying is still a question.

Last thing

Three non-negotiables.

Not eight. Three. The graveyard of every good intention is the person who tried to change everything on August 2nd.

You'll keep three for as long as you do this. Not the same three forever — when the month turns you look at them again, and one that's become automatic makes room for a harder one. The number stays three. What's in it is supposed to change.
